The International Ceramics Center in Keskemet, Hungary hosted the first ever Paper Clay conference in August of 2004. The symposium which was called "Firing Fibers" brought together the leading people all over the world that use paper clay for their artistic efforts. This grouping of artists included people form Finland, Netherlands, Australia, Whales, India, USA, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, and Hungary.
